We will complete our Spotlight series, with a focus on our favorite Assistant Principal, Mrs. Dobek.

Mrs. Dobek grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. She attended Cathedral High School, Our Lady of the Elms and Springfield College. Mrs. Dobek is married to Officer Dobek from the LPD. They have two daughters, Angela and Sophia and a son, Aaron. Mrs. Dobek is also a proud grandmother.

Mrs. Dobek has been in the education field for over 35 years. She began her career in the Diocese of Springfield and Forrest Park Middle School. She has spent the last 26 years at Baird Middle School and Harris Brook Elementary School. She has also been teaching at American International College in Springfield for the last 13 years.

Mrs. Dobek plans to keep busy. She will continue to teach at AIC and be a substitute teacher for Rangeley Schools in Maine. She volunteers at a local ski resort. She looks forward to skiing, riding her snowmobile, fishing and swimming. She is most excited to do these activities with her grandchildren. Mrs. Dobek is also looking forward to traveling with her husband.

We asked Mrs. Dobek for her best life advice. She said, "You are not alone. You are never alone. Be there for each other. Set goals, work hard, persevere, be grateful, compassionate and be willing to change. You got this!".

Mrs. Dobek joined us for our second year here at Harris Brook in the summer of 2022. Even though she has only been here for three years, it feels like she's been along for the ride the entire time. She quickly became a big part of our school and our lives. She is cool as a cucumber in a stressful situation. She is incredibly funny and very easy to talk to. She has left some very big shoes to fill. Mrs. Dobek is excited to spend some more time in Rangeley, Maine but don't be surprised if you see her planting tulip bulbs during Red Ribbon Week or giving a lesson on cranberry bogs. She may even stop by just for recess! We send Mrs. Dobek with well wishes and so much love. We will miss you Dobek.
